me
I am Laura - a passionate designer currently living in Greater Manchester, originally from Kent. I have been employed as an Illustrator and Graphic Designer since graduating in 2008 after studying for my BA(HONS) Illustration degree in the beautiful scenery of Wales.

My aim is to continue my artwork for a broad range of briefs and continue to learn about design. One of my latest achievements was being a Production Runner at CBeebies in January 2012. In 2011 I completed a placement with 'Justin's House' for CBeebies. You can see a photo of the crisp packets I produced for the show here.

The main focuses in my work are around feminine themes such as flora and fauna and I like to create artwork for children. My work can be translated onto various products and I have had my surface pattern illustrations used for umbrellas, hot water bottles, bags and more for high street stores, a few of which you can view on my website. I like to doodle and create patterns all day long, with inspiration from a range of designers.

2012
BBC/Cbeebies Production Runner for 'Tumble Travels'.

2011
BBC/Cbeebies art department placement opportunity with 'Justin's House'.

2010
I was asked to contribute to Drawgasmic Exhibition in St Louis, USA.
Approached to take part in Noise Festival pop-up shop in Manchester where I sold items of my jewellery designs, badges and illustrations.

2009
Shortlisted for my surface pattern designs by Textile Republic.
Awarded excellent rosettes from the curators of Noise Festival for a few items of design work.

2008
Employed full time as an Illustrator and Graphic Designer in Greater Manchester. (Sept 2008 - Present)
Volunteered for BBC Silk Screen Festival in Manchester, helping run a festival to celebrate Chinese culture and art.
Shortlisted for my surface pattern design for a pair of Oakley sunglasses, run by Oakley.
Exhibited at New Designers in London, CIRIC in Swansea and Swansea Theatre.
Graduated with a BA (HONS) General Illustration degree.

2007
Successfully gained and completed work experience at ISavedLaurence apparel design in London, with clients including Topshop.

2006
(2006 - 2008) Art and Design Faculty Representative at university.
